The website below is for the Millbrook Business Association. I wanted to go to the big meeting at the Firehouse recently but got snowed in. Now FWIW I think the organization is on the right track. Ruthie Bontecou, a friend is leading the charge to try to get more retail life into the town. When I was a pup and even then I was a full grown dog, Millbrook had the Corner Store for news and coffee, The wonderful department store on the corner that was displaced by higher rent for a art gallery operated by a convicted felon!
There was a Ford dealer in the middle of town, some law offices, several hardware stores and one fancy restaurant Daniele’s. The hardware store which I seem to remember was where the antique mall is now was an old time general store. The had a trained raccoon that used to sleep on a high shelf and would occasionally come down for food or just to check out the customers.
So go to this website and see whether there is enough energy to get involved. PK
