While  a fine specimen I would respectfully request a photo with a tape measure confirming the girth. I don’t question the tree’s size. I just want a level playing field.

Who knows? That old cottonwood in Millbrook may be bigger, but I have my doubts.

I had to cut down a big oak in the field below the house recently. When I counted the rings it was about 80 years old. I left the stump so I can still measure it but I think it probably was only about 7 feet or so around.

I wouldn’t call this a brisk competition but I encourage further entrants. First prize will be  a lifetime subscription to the Millbrook Times!
