The last thing #2 son does before he says goodbye to New Jersey for another year is to make a gingerbread house on Christmas day. He’s done it for more years than I’d like to count. When the house is finished it is brought up to the farm where it sits on the kitchen table until its time has come and it is put outside for the winter birds.
Today started out cold about 27 degrees but I put the house out at about 10AM. By afternoon the house had been discovered and the birds are pecking away at it. I can’t say the cats are disappointed as they now have some quarry to stalk. Sadly for them they never seem to get close enough to get a bird but they keep trying. The cats don’t seem to like the taste of gingerbread or jelly beans for that matter but they like the new entertainment.
