Apologies to Plato but this past week, because the day was very hot, I opened the door to the chicken coop to let the young hens out. This would have been their first outing in the light and air as they had been (forgive me) cooped up since birth.
As you can see from the below picture they didn’t want to come out to breath the fresh air and see the world as it really is. I didn’t force them out but just waited. I will try again on the next very warm day. Once they figure out how nice it is in the yard they wont want to go back. Plato forced the man out of the cave and into the light. I’m in no hurry to enlighten the chickens.
