With all the big chains snuffing out the local retailers there is an exception which almost everyone knows about in Dutchess County. Adam’s was in Poughkeepsie for a long time and was so popular that the Adams opened up another branch on Route 9 down in Wappingers and one over in Newburgh. They all seem to be thriving. I never met the Adams and don’t know much about them but I can assure you they know what the customer wants and it’s well worth a trip to visit and to stock up on everything for the kitchen or garden.
