We have a friend, Margaret who lives down in Westchester, who is moving and called a few weeks ago and said she had some pheasant andirons that she wanted to give us.

They were forged by Richie Albrecht, a farrier here in Clove Valley. He made two sets as best as I can figure out. One set is in the hunting club in Clove Valley and the other pair were made for our friend’s late husband. They are really beautiful and I assure you they will be in the fireplace for as long as the house is standing. The main reason being that they are incredibly heavy. I could barely get them one at a time from the truck to the fireplace.
