There are only about 150 Model A Ford deluxe phaetons left and the restored ones have gotten very pricey. I put one together from an engine and chassis I bought in North Dakota and a body I actually saw south of LA at the side of the road. I used some old parts and got it running although it is, as we say, rough but restorable.

So I put it on Ebay last week and got about 20 bids but none that I liked. I figured I’d put it in the barn and work on it next Spring but after the auction was over buyers started coming out of the woodwork. One buyer in New Hampshre and one in Michigan started bidding on it and the guy in NH is coming down Thursday before I change my mind. Like boats, the two happiest days for an old car owner is the day he buys it and the day he sells it.
