They are everywhere this year and never really noticed many in years past. They somehow get in the house and are easy to capture and send to the classic watery grave but you mustn’t squish them or apparently they will stink. There was an article in the paper recently about them first being discovered in Allentown PA although I suspect they were brought from a foreign land. For a while they had no natural enemies but the praying mantis feasts on them. Here is a link to a video of one being nibbled on and eaten by a praying mantis:


Now here is another video of the male and female praying mantis after mating. It is listed as one of the world’s weirdest videos.  I for one found it rather disturbing for reasons which will become clear after viewing:
