As I commented about Rick Perry’s eye glasses and maybe his questionable intelligence and in the interest of fair play I will give you my opinion on the other side of the political spectrum. Al Sharpton really gets me ranting and raving.
We were in Dripping sprigs Texas recently for a wedding. It happened also to be the 50th anniversary of LBJ’s civil rights legislation and everyone from Bill Clinton to Jimmy Carter to Barack Obama attended and made speeches. We saw Air Force One on the tarmac when we arrived in Austin and it really is an amazing site. That same plane, the people’s plane then took the President to New York City to attend an event sponsored by Al Sharpton.
Al Sharpton among other things was the one who fomented racial hatred in the Tawana Brawley case, burned out a Jewish merchant’s store in Harlem, and was caught in a cocaine deal and turned by the FBI. Do I believe in redemption, yes – do I believe that Al Sharpton is no different now than he was when he never paid rent to his landlord and neglected to file taxes?- yes
Probably the only pleasure I got from Al Sharpton was when Roy Innis, the head of the Congress of Racial Equality decked him during a television interview.
So now we are even – score one for the Democrats and one for the Republicans.
