Today it was 59 degrees. We have had almost no snow all winter. Even the big snowfall in New York City, 24 inches, only left a dusting here in Dutchess County. This afternoon I saw a bee in front of the house and two robins picking in the grass.I went down to the bee hives and saw both of them active with bees flying in and out. This may be bad news actually. If the bees run short of stored honey there is nothing they can forage for this early.
With the exception of one really cold spell of five days (17 below) the winter is the warmest I can remember. Of course March could be a surprise so stay tuned.
