New York City, New York — August 1942

Many people wait for trains inside of New York City’s Pennsylvania train station. The station is still in use and bustling today but it is more commonly referred to as Penn Station.penn station 1942

http://www.loc.gov/pictures/ is a site that will get you into the Library of Congress photographs, many are in color and during the depression years the Farm Administration paid photographers to record the American scene.
Sadly of course Pennsylvania Station was torn down a generation ago and was one of the most important architectural monuments in the country. As a result landmark laws were enacted and Grand Central Station although smaller is still with us.
